Your Community Centre

Hi everyone.  We are currently working to improve our website.  We know it needs to be updated but what else would you like on it?  Do you want it to link you to other sites, have video clips, information about other activities in Panmure?  Let us know what you think... email:  dunkirk@xtra.co.nz

Don't forget to like us on Facebook to get up to date information and see whats been happening at the Centre and around our township.

Our Introduction to Yoga group got off to a flying start and our tutor Navitha is happy to continue on a Koha basis.  So why don't you come on down and give it a go.  You don't need to bring a thing.

Don't forget to keep up your recycling efforts.  There will be lots more information and events to attend this year to discuss what to do to help keep your red-lidded bin empty and fill your blue bin faster.  Have a look at Auckland Councils website and start to reduce the amount of rubbish you put into landfil today!  (copy and paste this link into your browers)http://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/EN/environmentwaste/rubbishrecycling/Pages/WasteAndYourOptions.aspx

We look forward to hearing from you or seeing you at your favourite activity in 2016.

A Bit About Us....

Our Vision:  Panmure - A Strong, Vibrant, Thriving Community

Our Mission:  A Vibrant, Stimulating Centre Meeting the Needs of the Community

Dunkirk Road Activity Centre began in 1978 with an after school and holiday programme for local children based at Tamaki Intermediate School.  The group grew quickly and was offered the use of Mt Wellington War Memorial Hall where we are currently located.

The Centre now offers affordable activities and classes ranging from coffee mornings to craft groups and learning activities such as  first aid classes or Healthy Eating.  We hire our venue for private functions and other community groups use our facilities.  We are able to offer our assistance with community development projects and work in partnership to acheive common goals.

The Centre is an incorporated society and we are individually managed.  We would like to thank the following providers for their support and funding:

  • Auckland Council
  • Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board
  • Mt Wellington Foundation Ltd
  • Ministry of Social Development
  • Community Organised Grants Scheme (COGS)
